Personality disorders are conditions relating to the way we think about ourselves, others and our place in the world. They affect all elements of our lives and cause us and/or those close to us distress and difficulty in the way we get along in the world.
Personality disorders generally improve as we age, however with treatment, the rate of improvement may be increased for some of these disorders. This can enable people to reach equilibrium and get on with their lives more quickly.
The Regional Personality Disorder Services is a small multidisplinary team. We work with other clinicians, and sometimes clients, with a strong recovery focus. Our service mainly support mental health clinicians via specialist assessment, forming options, treatment planning, supervision and education.
