NZNO members to strike

Published Monday 31 May 2021

Official notice has been received that nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants who are members of the New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO) undertake strike action on Wednesday 9 June.

The strike action will be in the form of a complete withdrawal of labour, from all DHBs around the country, for eight hours from 11am that day.

Patient safety and wellbeing remains our highest priority and focus during this time. The emergency department (ED) at hospitals across the region will remain open throughout the strike.

Routine non-urgent Mental Health and Addiction appointments are being rescheduled.

If you are in crisis, please call Te Haika on 0800 745 477 or the team looking after your care.

For non-urgent help, please contact your GP.
