The New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO) has advised that its members have voted to reject the revised offer from DHBs.

This means nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants who are members of the NZNO will likely proceed with nationwide strike action on Thursday 12 July. The strike action will be in the form of a complete withdrawal of labour, from all DHBs around the country, for 24 hours from 7am on 12 July.

Patient safety and wellbeing remains our highest priority and focus during this time. The emergency department (ED) at hospitals across the region will remain open throughout the strike. People are asked to remember that the ED is for emergencies only.

All routine Mental Health and Addiction appointments are being rescheduled.
